For this assignment we are required to design a toiletries set for any brand that is stated a list. I chose Timberland. This toiletries set is a free gift for those who purchase Rm500 and above of Timberland’s merchandise. The product name “RUGG” is a short term for Rugged. hehhehe

Jumper Design 2

This is my sort of last minute design for my desktop packaging 2. My first idea for a poster design was, James Bond:Sean Connery but than due to its picture being too small and lack of time, i change to Kaleido Star (a japanese anime). The problem with this idea is that the pictures are way too big, therefore after tracing the file size is alot alot heavier till i can’t edit my work. After trying a few other pc besides my mac, my housemate (Kit Nam) told me to change the topic, Jumper, he gave me the idea. After 2 hours, the above is what i came out with. I submitted Jumper Design 2, the one in orange, results not out yet but after presenting……

“Well its a ver commercialize poster design, i like the way she put the four landmarks for the background and the main character in the middle. I also like the orange color combination with the grayscale and the black and white. Its very contrasting and it looks very daunting. But she uses too much of live trace and this assignment is not only given marks on the design but also problem solving.”

When she say problem solving it means that i did not solve the problems for my first and second idea instead i ran away from it, its like declining a job after meeting a few problems. Sob Sob…. Well i take comments very positively, so i don’t mind actually if the comments given where bad. Thanks to her honest comments, i now know my problem and will improve on it. =) hehe

Like most people says, movies, anime and dramas, what happen in them, is all fake, false, nothing in them is real. Especially in anime. I love anime, though its just hand drawn characters and made up plots but still, most anime characters face situations where they have to choose between life or death, them or their friends, situations where when all hopes lost, do they move on forward or give up?

One piece, one of my fav, what really inspire me in this anime is how they treasure their “nakama” (which means partners, or friends) they would go to the ends of the world to for a “nakama”, they would fight the most terrifying enemy to save a “nakama”. Would i go to that extend just to save a friend or your love ones? (I’m still wondering).

My another fav, Honey and Clover. The plot is about the life of a few characters in an art college. The most inspiring thing about this anime is one of the character called Hagu. Its about how she strive to regain her senses in her right hand(her drawing hand) so that she can continue to draw. She never gives up even though the chances is minimum. When i was young, all i know or want to do is draw, that was my dream. I love coloring, i love drawing. I drew on my dad’s room wall when i ran out of paper, i drew on my garage’s cement when my dad punished me for what i did. I wonder what happen to that dream of mine? My love for drawing, i question myself most nights, did i give up? or is it due to my bitter childhood that i gave it up? after watching Honey and Clover, i felt that giving my that dream at that point of time was something stupid of me to do, no matter what the reason i give myself i still…. i did not lose my drawing hand, i did not lose my senses, it was just a bitter childhood and i gave up my dream….

Lucky for me, its still not too late. Though i’m not good at it now, though i suck at it now, i’m going to move on forward with this dream and other dreams of mine. Its never too late….I’m glad to be a movie freak or anime freak or drama freak, i don’t mind… Everytime i want to give up, one of these will inspire me, giving me the courage and will to move forward, not giving up.

Well not only movies, anime or drams gives me the encouragement or motivation, not forgetting my family; mom, dad, sis and mio (hehhehe), of course my dear friends, especially Ying and never forgetting my love, BenBen. Hehehe Thanks for being there for me, thanks for everything, thanks so much!!

Never say that movies or cartoons mean nothing, its how you take it. You might say that i think too much or you must be thinking that i’m crazy or weird, maybe i am.

I met up with my lecturer today to clarify with her, the conversation:

Ashley: “Ms i’m barred from your subject zit?”
Lecturer: “Ya!”
Ashley: “Couldn’t be wor Ms, I got come leh…”
Lecturer: “But u absent quite a number of times le, aiya you go check your attendance la.”
In Ashley’s mind: How do i check my attendance?? Am I suppose have my own record??
Ashley: “Har??!! (confused)“
Lecturer: “Ya la, you go and check la.”
Ashley: “So to be unbarred….”
Lecturer: “You write an appeal letter lo..Go check with the office what they need.”
Ashley: “MmmMmmmMMMMmm… Ms…….????????”
Lecturer out of sight!!!

[Anime expression: cold wind passing through!]

Frozen for few seconds, i walk out of the classroom….

The conversation in Mandarin…..

Eilynn: “Ashley! Ashley! Your NOT BARRED leh!!!”
Ashley: “Har??”
Eilynn: “Really leh, your NOT on the BAR list leh”
Ashley: “Sure? Really? For DTP wo??”
Eilynn: “Really leh, you don’t believe me you can go check.”
Ashley: “Really ar… phew!!”
Eilynn: “I think you are on the BOTHER LINE only la.”
Ashley in thoughts: Laughing… Hahahahahaha Hahahahha
Ashley(without much expression): “Mmmm okie”

I was at the BOTHER LINE….

This means that from now on, for the next three weeks not a single class of hers i can skip… GREAT!!
